Tips & Troubleshooting

The numbers on the dashboard don't match what you remember? Before assuming there's a bug, walk through these two quick checks. One of them is almost always the answer.

The top banner breaks out your P&L — unrealized, realized, and net — next to the time-period filter

1. What time period are you looking at?

Every dashboard, every chart, every metric card is filtered by the time-period selector at the top of the page. Today shows only today. Week shows the last seven days. All Time shows everything.

If you set the filter to Today in the morning and come back to the dashboard at 9 p.m., you're still looking at today. The same number on the Month filter could be very different.

2. Is the Show Broker Fees toggle on or off?

In Dashboard Settings, the Show Broker Fees toggle changes whether P&L numbers are shown net (after fees) or gross (before fees). A trade can show +$50 gross and +$48 net depending on the toggle.

If your numbers look slightly smaller than expected, the fees toggle might just be on. If they look slightly larger, the toggle might just be off. Try flipping it and see.

Other possibilities

  • A new trade closed since you last looked. P&L updates in real time; refresh nothing and the number simply changes.
  • The Calendar source filter is set to one source. If you've been on the Calendar and used the source filter (e.g. "Manual only"), other dashboards may have inherited it. Check filter states across pages.
  • You're looking at unrealized vs realized. The banner shows both, but they're different numbers. Unrealized moves with the market; realized is locked in.
  • A trade that was green before fees can count as a loss. Win and loss are counted the same way on every page — by your net result, after fees. A trade that made +$3 before fees but −$1 after them counts as a loss, and the banner, History, Calendar, and Dashboard all agree on it. (With the Show Broker Fees toggle off, everything counts on the gross result instead — so your win/loss record can shift slightly when you flip that toggle.)

Tip

Open the Trade History page and check the total there against the dashboard. History shows the raw trade list — if those individual trades all look right but the dashboard summary doesn't, you've narrowed the problem to a filter or display setting.
